Who are we?

We are the people behind Schwung. The board is elected every year from the most motivated members of the organization.

President

Jeney, Zsombor

I have been studying Pharmaceutical Sciences (D-CHAB) at ETH since 2021. In my free time I like doing photography, theatre, or playing sports. Attending social gatherings and meeting new people is also an important point for me, which has led to me joining Schwung in the first place. Through my work in the association, I hope to further develop this community and build something great for all Hungarian students in Zurich.

Vice President

Jakab, Johanna

I study political science at the ETH D-GESS department, as an “outsider” at a rather technical university. Having never lived in a country for more than 7 years, the decision to study political science was quite organic. The subject covers everything that interests me: culture, literature, politics, history, religion, democracy, economics, health, finance and of course statistics. When I have free time, I dance tango and salsa, travel or discuss the latest news with friends.

Treasurer

Hajdú, Zsombor

I am Zsombor, a second year student at the ETH Computer Science Master’s program. In the little free time I have left after university I read a lot, do sports and play music. Although I am really passionate about my profession, I have never been satisfied with just computers, and I found the work that allowed me to have a more direct impact on people much more fulfilling. That’s why it’s such an honour for me to continue working to help Hungarian students find the support they need here in Switzerland.

Professional Event Manager

Fazekas, Levente

I am a linguistics student at UZH at Master’s level. Having grown up outside Hungary, I had few opportunities to stay in touch with my culture of origin. So I was delighted to discover that there is a Hungarian student association that offers a variety of activities – from informal get-togethers to cultural events. I fully believe in the importance of community building, especially in situations where students may be living abroad for the first time. Thus, it was with great enthusiasm that I joined the board. In my free time, I enjoy sports, including hiking, swimming and fencing. On rainy days I like to play the piano, read or go to the opera.

Social Event Manager

Nemes, Tamás

This year I started my second year of Bachelor studies at ETH in Computer Science (D-INFK). My membership of Schwung started quite early, as I felt warmly welcomed in the association from the very beginning. I like to spend my free time with music, digital drawing and folk dancing. The goals and tasks of my role are to organize community events, provide regular opportunities to meet and have fun together, and develop the cultural branch; all to ensure that everyone can find the right activity for them and integrate into the Schwung community. This community is the most important link of our association and I am very happy to work on maintaining and further developing it.

Social Media Coordinator

Cook, Emma

I am a Master’s student in Chemical and Bioengineering at ETH. When I’m not in the lab, I can often be found on the court at my badminton club or at ASVZ. My latest passion is parkour, and I’m always up for a game of pool. My creative side loves to play with designs, so representing Schwung on social media is the perfect position for me.

Alumni Coordinator

Kiffer, Dorina

I studied finance, accounting and management in Hungary and in Norway and I’m currently working as a financial controller in Lucerne. In my free time I do sports, paint or go out with my friends. At university I participated in many student organisations, and now it’s time to give something back to the student community, now as a coordinator. I think the idea of helping with the integration of Hungarian students is great, so I am happy to be a part of Schwung.

External Outreach Coordinator

Czégé, Sára

Hi, my name is Sara. As one of the few members who doesn’t live in Zurich, I am responsible for building connections between Schwung and other Hungarian associations throughout Switzerland. I am a PhD student at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), researching in the field of climate economics, and I work as a TA and RA. In my free time, I love spending time with my friends at parties, hiking, traveling, skiing, or at the spa. I also really enjoy dancing and sing in the University Choir of St. Gallen. I am working on building a more interconnected student network so that Hungarian students can profit from the best opportunities here in Switzerland.

Webmaster

Szakács, Áron Vince

I’m an electrical engineering Master’s student. My hobbies are scouting, learning languages and skiing. My love for computers and hacking has motivated me to become our webmaster.
